Summer Reading at Syracuse Library for children and teens runs June 1-July 31. Both programs offer exciting prizes and fun activities, all while encouraging a lifelong enjoyment of reading. Read on for more info.

About the Event

Children

  • Read-to-Me's: (birth to 5 y/o) pick up or print a reading sheet and place stickers for each book you share. Share 25 books and receive a bag, and share 50 for a book to keep.
  • Independent Readers: (k-5th) pick up or print a summer reading game card. Complete 10 activities for a bag and 20 for a book to keep.

Teens

  • When school ends teens can sign up for the Tales & Fanstasy Teen Summer Reading program. Teens will be given a notebook to track their pages read, and they pick their StarWars figure for the bulletin board that shows reading progress. June 8th is the first day that prizes can be picked up for pages read.
  • During June and July, sign up for any DIY programs, many of which are fantasy and Star Wars themed.
