Chamber Membership Hears from Poly-wood at Banquet

The 2012 Annual Chamber Banquet was held on January 24 at the Syracuse Community Center. The sports team theme made for a fun evening, however the most enjoyable event of the evening was hearing from speakers, George Robertson of KEDCo and Mark Phillabaum, Co-founder of Poly-wood, Syracuse.

The chamber recognized Poly-wood as well as Living Quarters for their commitment to the Syracuse-Wawasee area. Other awards were presented and well deserved! Congratulations to all and thank you sponsors, for helping make this event successful!

Winter Carnival – Cancelled for 2012

Wawasee Kiwanis will be hosting their Annual Soup Summer Cook-off. January 13, 5pm – 7pm at the Syracuse Community Center. The Kiwanis is now accepting entries, contact the chamber office for more information.

Note: The Snowmobile Drags/Winter Carnival has been cancelled for 2012. Syracuse Lake is not currenlty covered with a safe amount of ice for the races. We will be scheduling the event for 2013, date will be announced in the near future. If you are interested in helping plan/organize the event for next year, please contact the chamber office.

Syracuse Laundramat Open for Business!

The owners of the Milford Wash & Storage have recently purchased The Laundry Basket in Syracuse and it is now open for business! The Hardys have also purchased the North Webster facility, it is up and running as well. Grand Opening ceremonies are set for each location. North Webster Grand Opening will take place on January 7 and The Laundry Basket in Syracuse will celebrate it’s Grand Opening on February 11. Stop in and welcome them as local business owners.

Networking Luncheons Scheduled

The next Networking Luncheon will take place on March 14, 11:30am. Come meet the newest business owner in our community, Erick Leffler. Erick will be sharing his story and the chiropractic business. Join the chamber as we welcome him! This is a great time to network and meet new business professionals. This meeting will take place at the “New” chamber office, located at 110 1/2 E Main (previously Downtown Grounds). These events offer a great opportunity to share your business or profession with others and to learn as well. Cost for chamber members is $10, non-members is $12 per person. Lunch is provided!
