Chicago Comedy Film Festival Director, Jessica Hardy will be offering 5-week Summer Sessions at the NWCC.

Mondays: 6:30pm-9:30pm from June 11 – July 16th (no class on July 2)

Tuesdays: 6:30pm-9:30pm – July 24th – Aug. 21st

Cost is $75/session / $60 if you sign up by May 15th

There will be an end of session comedy showcase for your family, friends, and the public during your final week!

The class is open to ages 14 and up. No experience required!

Liberty Bike Ride – Tour de Lakes

The 3rd Annual Liberty Bike Ride is scheduled for Saturday, July 14, 2012. Several routes are planned for all bike enthusiasts. The Family Fun Ride will take riders around Syracuse Lake, the 25K will take riders around beautiful Syracuse Lake and our largest body of water, Lake Wawasee. The 50k will wind around Syracuse Lake, Lake Wawasee and Webster Lake in North Webster. The avid riders will have the opportunity to see approximately 8 of the 100 lakes in Kosciusko County.

There will be SAG stops available throughout each of the routes for riders to stop for refreshments, rest and restrooms. Cost for each rider is $20, includes map of route, t-shirt and refreshments.

Chamber Membership Hears from Poly-wood at Banquet

The 2012 Annual Chamber Banquet was held on January 24 at the Syracuse Community Center. The sports team theme made for a fun evening, however the most enjoyable event of the evening was hearing from speakers, George Robertson of KEDCo and Mark Phillabaum, Co-founder of Poly-wood, Syracuse.

The chamber recognized Poly-wood as well as Living Quarters for their commitment to the Syracuse-Wawasee area. Other awards were presented and well deserved! Congratulations to all and thank you sponsors, for helping make this event successful!

Syracuse Laundramat Open for Business!

The owners of the Milford Wash & Storage have recently purchased The Laundry Basket in Syracuse and it is now open for business! The Hardys have also purchased the North Webster facility, it is up and running as well. Grand Opening ceremonies are set for each location. North Webster Grand Opening will take place on January 7 and The Laundry Basket in Syracuse will celebrate it’s Grand Opening on February 11. Stop in and welcome them as local business owners.

Business After Hours/Ribbon Cutting
The Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber has a new home. The office is now located at 110 1/2 E Main St. (formerly Downtown Grounds). We will celebrate with a Business After Hours and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, April 18. Beginning at 5:15pm with the ribbon cutting, then networking, refreshments and more from 5:30 – 7pm.
